I’ve been investigating and experimenting with mixed media bracelets and cuffs… somewhat inspired by my friend Kathy’s cuffs, which are made on felt and stitched with paper, yarn, beads and more. I wanted to make my crochet a bit more interesting and try crocheting with different materials, and integrate other materials into crocheted items. These are a few of the cuffs I’ve made recently.
The black, green and purple cuffs across the middle are based on the Birch Bracelet pattern, the other black cuff is just a simple rectangle in single crochet with a button hole on one end and ribbon crocheted around the edge. The pink one is the Spokes Cuff, and the bottom purple cuff is the Julie Cuff (made with recycled denim, so it’s a bit more textured).
The ribbon on the edges of the black cuffs is Anny Blatt. Ooh, I love this stuff! It is so nice and the colours are gorgeous.
I’m hoping to get a bit more adventurous with my mixed media, but I think this has been a nice start.
