Crochet Regina hat

March 30, 2012 · Leave a Comment

This is my attempt at a crochet version of the Regina knitted hat by Carina Spencer.

The first one I made had no slouch, so it was a lot more beanie-like, and the fan wasn’t quite right. The second one (this one) has more slouch (although I wonder if the top of the hat should be flatter), but I had to redo the fan because it was too big. Despite my concern about the top of the hat, after two attempts at the hat and three attempts at the fan, I think the pattern is just about right now (and I will probably post it on Ravelry).

The fan goes the other way to the Regina. This was just the way that made sense because I crochet with the hook in my right hand going anti-clockwise and I worked the fan last, placing it back over the stitches. If you crochet clockwise it would end up on the same side as the Regina.
